India vs New Zealand: India rise atop Test rankings with explicit win at Eden

Virat Kohli’s Indian team climb No 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings. Team have now won four Test series, are unbeaten in 12 Test matches. The climb to the top spot is thoroughly deserved.

Fast Bowler Mohammed Shami bounced Trent Boult resulted in top edge behind the slip cordon. M Vijay who was in the first slip ran backwards and took the catch comfortably. Traditional Bengali drummers presented on Eden Gaurdens, and the Indian players celebrated their rise to No 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings.

 

Fasters from both sides jointly shared 26 wickets between them in the Test. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the leading wicket taker for India in the first innings with 5/48 while Shami destroyed the opposition batting lineup in the second inning on the fourth day.

New Zealand lost their last seven wickets inside the 30 overs just for 62 runs, before tea break they were on 135/3 in 52 overs. Shami took three of them, while B Kumar did the remaining task. The two seamers attested that with a combined tally of 12 wickets in the match.
